The ki’i stone image of Kaneikokala, the god of fishing, tormented the dreams of A native born Hawaiian man, telling him where he was buried, and pleaded constantly to be unearthed from the cold ground. Hawaiians in the 1800’s buried many of the gods to save them from being destroyed. After unearthed and moved to the Bishop Museum in Honolulu, the stone cemented to the floor has refused to be moved.
